Session Recording

Session recording is a user experience research technique that captures and replays an anonymized recording of an individual visitor’s actual interactions on a website — their mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior — providing granular qualitative insight beyond aggregate analytics.

Watching real session recordings often reveals specific points of confusion or frustration, such as visitors repeatedly clicking on non-clickable elements or abandoning a form partway through, that aggregate metrics alone wouldn’t clearly explain.

Session recordings should be reviewed alongside broader quantitative data, since watching a handful of individual sessions provides valuable qualitative context but isn’t statistically representative of all visitor behavior on its own.

We use session recording insights to inform on-page optimization recommendations.
