RDFa (Resource Description Framework in Attributes) is another older method of implementing structured data markup directly within a webpage’s HTML attributes, similar in concept to microdata but using a different technical syntax.
Like microdata, RDFa remains functional and recognized by search engines, but Google’s clear preference for JSON-LD as the recommended implementation method has made RDFa a less commonly used approach in modern web development.
Websites built on certain older content management systems or specific frameworks may still use RDFa, and it remains a valid, functional option even though it’s less commonly recommended for new implementations today.
We assess existing structured data implementations, including RDFa, within our Technical SEO service.
