FAQ Schema

FAQ schema is a type of structured data markup used to identify a set of frequently asked questions and their answers on a webpage, making the content eligible to appear as an expandable FAQ rich result directly in Google’s search listings.

Historically, FAQ rich results could significantly increase a search listing’s visual footprint on the results page, often improving click-through rates simply by taking up more space. Google has since restricted FAQ rich results primarily to well-established, authoritative sites in certain cases, though the schema markup itself still provides value for search engines’ understanding of the content.

FAQ schema works best when applied to genuine, useful questions that reflect real user queries, rather than being used purely as an SEO trick with contrived questions.

FAQ schema implementation is included in our Technical SEO service where relevant.
